Abstract

A previous project (099-553), undertaken in 2006, used the databank of the results of analyses carried out by the IRSST’s laboratories from 2001 to 2005 to determine the chemical substances present in high concentrations in Québec companies. It mainly led to the publication of several reports and sector-based data. This time, this work will be completed and updated data will be produced relating to hygiene and biological exposure monitoring by using existing toxicological data for the first time. The researchers expect to produce six reports in 2008. Such studies on the interpretation of data originating from the IRSST’s laboratories have already had an impact on strategic and operational priorities in occupational health and safety. They have also provided invaluable information on the research requirements in the field of chemical substances and biological agents.
